I am not terribly into sitting around and watching videos like that. I can watch a few, but a whole series? Nah. So, I promptly downloaded a sample of this book, and liked it so much that I got the Kindle version. And now, after spending a day cleaning my oven and oven racks per her instructions, I feel the need to order the hardcover. I imagine it being like Molly Weasley hunting for how Gilderoy Lockhart suggests to properly de-gnome your garden.

Containing both DIY cleaner recipes and thoroughly detailed cleaning instructions, room-by-room, and a table/chart in the back (or downloadable via a link provided by the publisher in the Kindle version), I found this to be a modern day How-to book properly in line with my expectations.

I finished reading in one night, started my routines the next day! It's definitely making improvements on my home and I don't completely hate cleaning now!
Glad I picked this book up on a preorder. I follow Melissa on her YouTube channel and when I found out she made a book, I had to buy it. This book is easy to follow and contains great tips and cleaning supply recipes/recommendations for products that are not super harmful to use around the home. This book is my cleaning bible and I'm sure I will continue to reread it as time goes by! Buy it and you won't regret it!
I really love this book. It is very organized and easy to follow. Melissa's tips on cleaning are for me, eye opening. I never thought about the tricks and methods she explained in her book and they have made a huge difference in my house. I am no longer buying any store bought cleaners. I make my own. I invested in some essential oils. That was the only really expensive items to buy. So I'm saving money and my house is sparkling clean from top to bottom! S-pattern! Oh Ya!! Thank you Melissa Maker!!
Excellent and easy read with a cookbook feel. I learned alot and my home never looked better. The cleaning recipes also helped cut down on my cleaning supply budget! Less time cleaning and more money is all a win for me. I also really liked reading her notes in the book and watching the youtube video to follow along for some more visual help! An excellent investment for a packrat like me!
Melissa isn't one of those people who think everyone will love cleaning as much as she does. In fact, she hates it as much as I do! As a chronic migraine sufferer, a busy full-time working mother of two, and having a husband with limited mobility due to health issues, it's hard to find the time and motivation to clean. I've been a fan of her YouTube channel for years, and watching her methods has definitely cut down on the time and effort I've had to put into cleaning. Using the techniques, tools, and DIY cleaners she lays out in her videos, website, and book, I now find myself putting in half of the time and effort for a beautifully clean space, rather than a mediocre job for twice the time and effort I was putting in before.

Also, I can't praise her DIY cleaners enough. Thanks to those, I no longer have to worry that the fumes from what I'm using will trigger a three-day migraine. I have found myself time and time again going back to her YouTube channel and her website to look up DIY recipes I need for a specific task.

Do yourself a favor and subscribe to her YouTube channel! You'll see her methods in action, which helps if you're a visual learner. Not only are the videos informative, but she has a wonderfully warm and cheerful personality, and she and her husband Chad will definitely make you laugh as you find yourself getting motivated. My next purchase? Melissa's own brand, Maker's Microfiber Cloths!
GREAT buy. I follow Melissa on her YouTube channel and decided to get the book. I was not disappointed. It expands on the information on the channel. I have struggled for years to stay on top of my house cleaning and this book has given me the know how to develops routines that work for me. Also like the natural recipes for cleaning products. I have bought several other books on cleaning and this is by far the best.
Who'd of thought someone could actually make cleaning something that wasn't right up there with having your fingernails ripped out? I'm halfway through the book, which is an amazingly easy read, and actually, dare I say, can't wait to get cleaning. I put a bit of what I gleaned from last nights' reading into practice today at work, and did an unassigned portion of our departmental cleaning. It was quite a large undertaking, but I started at the top of my project, and worked my way down. In fact, it went so well, I cleaned the same area in another room. Hah! Who'd of thought?!
